THE VESSEL
59E59 Theaters - Summer 2026
"Respect for the dead, and for the people who lost them, is an element that 'The Vessel,' at 59E59 Theaters, gets very right." - The New York Times
“An unusually compassionate work of contemporary theater… one of the season’s most quietly devastating new American plays.” - Theater Scene
"An excellent, thought-provoking production... Smartly written [and] adroitly directed..." - BroadwayWorld
“With its intimate staging and quietly powerful performances, ‘The Vessel’ invites us to consider what it means to watch, to belong, and to look out for one another.” - Stage and Cinema
“Treating these three bright, damaged, flailing young people with equal parts perception, sympathy, and humor, George gets at something that few of his colleagues have succeeded at doing, plausibly evoking what it feels like to come of age in a twenty-first century marked by random violence and creeping uncertainty… [The Vessel] introduces a writer with something to say about a distinctive aspect of New York life and a canny eye for his generation's challenges.” - Lighting & Sound America
